Florida -

THOMAS J. SKOLA is one of few attorneys to have qualified to practice law in both the United States (Florida, New York and Washington D.C.) and Brazil, where he was admitted to the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (i.e. the Brazilian Bar) in 1980. Mr. Skola has practiced law with Allende & Brea (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Curtis Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle (New York City and Sao Paulo, Brazil), and Escritório Augusto Nobre-Advogados (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), as well as in Florida since 1981. Accordingly, he is very familiar with most international/comparative legal practices and procedures, especially those related to business transactions involving civil law jurisdictions, like those of Latin America and Europe. In this regard, Mr. Skola joined the inaugural class of Civil Law Notaries in Florida in 1999 to assist with international business transactions relating to civil law jurisdictions and to ease document exchange among parties in transnational litigation.
